Amasa Walker's SPLENDID GARMENT
EMILY CHETKOWSKI

This true story takes place in the year 1811 when Amasa was 12 years old. Mrs. Walker decided her son needed a new coat and that he was going to help make it. Dawn Peterson's illustrations capture the history and excitement unfolding. Amasa visits the farm where the sheep's wool is sheared and the carding mill where it is combed. It is spun back home and then taken to the weaver and the fulling mill. The cloth is then hand cut and stitched. Amasa Walker was a brilliant scholar and a prominent Massachusetts politician. He told this story at a speaking engagement in the 1850's and his notes are preserved. His house and the sheep farm in North Brookfield, Massachusetts are still there today.< BR>

AM I SOMEONE the poetry
ALLEN FRANCIS FOLEY

"This poetry volume takes us on a passionate, philosophical journey of the many dimensions as seen through the eyes of a poet . . . Through much of his work, the author tries to find a way to put foundations under man's survival and man's importance on this planet earth, and he finds that love is the only way to nurture and protect this process."

"Peace is a kiss from heaven sent down to earth.
Love, is God's crowning harmony."
