When love has gone

When love has gone
it leaves a hole
a painful, empty space.

I miss your smile
I miss your soul
I miss your pretty face.

You said we'd fly
we'd rock and roll
you'd cover me with lace.
We'd drink the cup
we'd fill the bowl
we'd run the winning race.

I miss your smile
I miss your soul
I miss your pretty face.

My life was sad
You made me whole
You were my only ace.
The price was high
I paid the toll
the joy I won't erase.

I miss your smile
I miss your soul
I miss your pretty face.

I should have known
it was no stroll
you kept a deadly pace.
The fast lane lifestyle
just like a mole
kept eating at the base.

I cannot smile
you've cracked my soul
I wear a tear stained face

The pirate's flag
goes up the pole
I've lost my final case.
I will not smile
you've killed my soul
I wear a tearstained face.
